Arizona DOT & CDL Registration Guide
Essential state-specific CDL licensing guidelines detailing ADOT portals, medical self-certification, and medical examiner databases.
Operating as a commercial driver in Arizona requires coordinating between the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) Motor Vehicle Division (MVD).
Under Arizona state law, all CDL holders must self-certify their operation type (Interstate versus Intrastate) and submit a valid, current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (MCSA-5876) to ADOT.
When you complete your CDL exam at The Accident Doctor, our Certified Medical Examiner immediately hands you your physical Medical Card, and enters your details directly into the FMCSA National Registry.
To finish your compliance process, you must upload or submit your physical MCSA-5876 certificate directly to the AZ MVD Portal. This update must occur prior to the expiration of your existing card to prevent automatic CDL suspension.
